Tufts Office Supply Inc. is one of the largest independent
office supply company in the Bay Area. Tufts has been in
business since 1975, earning customer loyalty through their
expertise and high level of customer service.
While experts in the office supply field, Tufts needed
a technology partner to help make technology work better
for their business. The web site, the internet connection,
company e-mail
nothing was working just right.
The partnership between Tufts and Welch Business Systems
started in 1999. The first project was the corporate web
site. The web site had been off-line for an unacceptable
period of time and the supplier that Tufts was working with
was simply not returning phone calls. Almost immediately,
Welch Business Systems had the web site up and operational
(and getting orders).
After this initial success, Tufts and Welch developed a
technology plan that identified where data technology could
contribute to the Tufts bottom line and estimated the cost
of each plan increment. A fast internet connection was implemented,
with appropriate security configured to keep hackers out.
New network servers were implemented with redundant features
to keep business services fully operational, even in the
event of hardware failure. Tufts implemented some Customer
Relationship Management (CRM) suggested by WBS.
Today, Welch Business Systems continues to act as the primary
technology partner at Tufts, proactively supporting the
computer network and infrastructure.
